Our favourite stuff: Europe

Europe is a Swedish rock band formed in Stockholm in 1979 by vocalist Joey Tempest, guitarist John Norum, bassist Peter Olsson and drummer Tony Reno. Since its formation, Europe has released 9 studio albums.

Europe rose to international fame in the 80's with its third album The Final Countdown, which became a success and sold over three million copies in America. Europe was one of the most successful rock band of the 80's and sold over 20 million albums worldwide. To my mind their best album is Out Of This World which have the most beautiful songs they made like "Coast to Coast" or "Superstitious". With Bon Jovi or Scorpions, Europe was at the Hard Rock FM's top with successful songs like "Rock The Night" or "Carrie". The success of their third album cause to forget that this band first evolved in a heavy metal inspired by Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden before turning in a more Glam / FM genre. The attempt to return to a more aggressive hard rock in the early 90's was a failure. Europe had a break just after, in 1992. They reunited temporarily for a performance in Stockholm on New Year's Eve 1999 and announced an official reunion in 2003. Since then, the band has released four albums, their last one is Bag of Bones which came out in April 2012.
