Our favourite stuff: Lordi

Lordi Hard Rock Hallelluja

First, Lordi is a heavy metal band founded in 1996.We can also talk of "monster metal" because this band is inspired by monsters to create their music like Devil is a Lose. Then this band is known by their apparitions in monsters like we can see in this picture :

Hard Rock Hallelluja is a song inspired by the Bible because in the lyrics, we can see :

"Wings on my back

I got horns on my head

My fangs are sharp

And my eyes are red

Not quite an angel

Or the one that fell

Now choose to join us or go straight to Hell"

They use descriptions that make the character sound like a demon or a devil, they state that they aren't angels "or the one that fell" a reference to the fallen angel known as the devil. They seem to position themselves as angels or demons, or as their own persons. It refers to Hell. Tthe term "The Arockalypse" is a reference to the Apocalypse as seen in the bible. But it's mocking it by using a made up word.

In the official videoclip, at the beginning we can see a girl who looks shy. This girl,  is rejected by the other persons because she is alone like the fallen angel in the Bible. Then we can see this girl go to the gymnastic room where others girls are dancing. When suddenly the singer appears and knocks them over, except the rejected girl. After we can see the heavy metal band playing music together, the singer is showing the shy girl and, in my opinion, possesses the girl. Later the singer possesses all the girls when he describes the fallen angel. Furthermore all the girls become monsters and give the creeps to the alone girl. Then this girl is possessed and scares everybody in the corridors.

Finally, this song is a blasphemy to God where basically his purpose is to push his own vision of rock above God himself. The references to the Bible are obvious but he mocks God and exalts himself just as Lucifer did when he wanted the throne of God and was kicked out of Heaven for it.

Personnaly, I'm crazy about this song because the rythm is very punchy and the sound of the instruments is beautiful.
